That's an understatement, but I'm glad that the foundation we created is working properly (well, maybe the X classes need some work, but this is the BMW club after all).
I would love to make a NCC PAX, but I need all the raw data from last year to do so in Excel format - Doug, Wes, can you pull from AxWare? There's an option to export to Excel for each event.
Yeah. I should have pulled up some of the minutes from the debate to remind myself what I was getting into by talking about creating a PAX. I know better. Talk about a debate. I'm sure the entire committee could run for president on the United States with less nuanced discussions on competing policies. NCC undoubtedly has a good system as a result though.
I was just trying to set something up where "transients" such as myself and AJ could compete against others that are often not in the same BMW class, while not interfering with the ranking of those in dedicated BMW classes ...which I have subsequently learned is not a problem with our classing system/ minimum events.
Maybe I should have framed it as an instructor's class.... [OK Noel --> read above: don't mess with this!!] OK. remove that.
[Sorry. I've become a real turd]
That is one of the reasons I do NOT like doing AI events. If I compete, I want to compete against all cars that should be in my class, not just fellow "amateurs". At the BMW club events I'm all for someone calculating a "PAX" winner among a certain group of cars such as the SCCA T2 regulars, but don't burden the organizers with creating a separate class and the complex calculations.

I think I agree with you Woody. I used the term "propax" initially just because that's what some groups call it (like AI, I think). Some groups call it the "novice" class, but driving in that could cause problems for genuine novices looking to beat other novices. The proposed PAX class could be called "SCCA Transients who wish they could make the whole BMW season, but cannot" class. It would probably have about 7 cars in it, and I agree that it hardly justifies imposing any requirement on others who don't want a pax standing.
I wouldn't be against using pax, but the spec evo.....errr I mean BSP Pax is a dagger.
Unless something changed, setting up a PAX is rather easy. I did it a couple years ago when I did all the timing stuff.
Don't worry Josh. I doubt anyone will run a full season. Something something attendance award..
2005 Subaru STi X2 by way of STU
2009 Autocrossers Inc. STU series champion
2010 Autocrossers Inc. STU runner up (never let Shane drive your car)
Finally decided to register so I'm officially in lol. Wow X2 is quite a big class. Looks like Stu's bringing his GT3 out I think he said he's running on street tires, still fast though lol
