Depends how far you have to drive.
If you want to stay for the BBQ you might consider spending the night in Charles Town. I am only about an hour away and normally go home at night.

There are a number of reasonable motels in Charles Town. For the past few years I've stayed at the Towne House and found it satisfactory. The motel's restaurant is good for an early breakfast.
