    08/30/2013 - 09/01/2013 - Baltimore Grand Prix Corral

    National Capital Chapter BMW CCA
2013 Baltimore Grand Prix / ALMS Corral

The National Capital Chapter BMW Car Club of America (NCC BMW CCA) will once again host the BMW NCC Corral for the American LeMans Series (ALMS) / IZOD Indycar Series races being held Labor Day weekend in Baltimore, Maryland.

We're back - and ready to see some great racing over the Labor Day weekend in Baltimore! The NCC Board and BGP volunteer team are committed to have an event even better than last year as we welcome all BMW CCA members to the NCC hospitality corral. We hope you will join us, along with your family and friends, as we support the new Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing Z4s that will be out to win in 2013!

Here are the ground rules for this event.

    1. Registration closes on Friday, August 1st at Midnight or when our limited ticket allotment is sold out.

    2. We have several race ticket / corral / parking options so you can choose just the access you need for the weekend. We believe these race weekend options are an EXCELLENT VALUE for our members.

    3. If you already have your BGP race tickets, we hope you will still come and join us in the NCC Corral and park your BMW or invited exotic car on our corral parking lot.

    4. Sorry, there will be no ticket exchanges for attendees that already have tickets this year. But we hope you will still 'park and play' with us in the NCC Car Corral throughout the weekend.

    5. The BMW National Capital Chapter Corral will be adjacent to and have access to the ALMS paddock.

    6. Access to the Indy & Indy Lights paddocks, located inside the Convention Center, requires a separate paddock pass if you purchase a General Admission ticket. If you are interested, you may purchase that pass through the BGP website at: http://raceonbaltimore.com/tickets-and-schedule .

    7. NCC Grandstand tickets include reserved seating in Grandstands 9 and 10 outside the track with sightlines of the long straighaway and turns 10, 11 & 12. Our Grandstand seats are across from the Jumbotron with a live video feed of the race.

    8. General Admission tickets provide various viewing areas along the fenced area between turns 9 & 10, but have no view of the Jumbotron.

    9. The NCC Corral will have morning coffee and lunch served on Friday, Saturday & Sunday, water, soft drinks & light snacks available on all three days throughout the race weekend and exclusive activities only available to BMW Club members and their guests.

    10. Registration is open to all BMW CCA members, including Associate members. Members can bring non-members with them, but registration and payments must be done by a BMW CCA member. If you are not a member and want to spend the weekend with us at the BGP, becoming a member is easy. Simply call the BMW CCA National Headquarters at: 1-800-878-9292 and sign up over the phone. Then register with MotorsportReg.com and include your CCA Member # in your profile information. That's it - you're now set to register for the NCC BGP and enjoy all the benefits of BMW CCA membership for the next year. More information about the BMW Car Club of America can be found at: www.bmwcca.org .

    11. Please make sure the contact information in your MotorsportReg.com account is correct and up-to-date. All NCC BGP information will be sent to attendees by email based on the information in your MotorsportReg.com account.

    12. Get an idea of what we offer by reading the 2011 and 2012 BGP NCC Corral highlights from the der Bayerische at: http://db.nccbmwcca.org/2011/2011_1112.pdf and http://db.nccbmwcca.org/2012/2012_1112.pdf .

NOTE: Parking in the BMW National Capital Chapter Corral is limited to BMW and invited exotic car brands, regardless of the ticket you have purchased.
    Schedule:

The 2013 Baltimore Grand Prix will feature five professional car races: the American Le Mans series (ALMS) and USF2000 series races on Saturday; and the IZOD IndyCar series, Firestone Indy Lights series and IMSA Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge series on Sunday.

Parade laps are back! There will be activities and concerts throughout the race weekend. Additional information about race activities and schedules can be found on the NCC website at: http://bgp.nccbmwcca.org website and on the 2013 Baltimore Grand Prix website at: http://raceonbaltimore.com .

Remember, if you have already purchased a BGP race ticket, you can still be a part of the BMW National Capital Chapter Corral. Just buy a NCC Corral access pass and you can spend the weekend with friends!

If you want to be involved with the BMW National Capital Chapter Corral Committee, contact Kelsy Hill at: Kelsy@nccbmwcca.org or 917-745-6413 (cell) .

    REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!!!

This year's BGP corral promises to be even better than years past with more people, more cars, more activities, more giveaways, and the return of parade laps!

While we must share the lot with Porsche, Corvette, and others, we will still be the biggest marque club there so, make sure that you're there for this year's huge race weekend.

    Thanks, Paul, Doug, and Kelsey!

I'm signed up and looking forward to another great event. I had such a fun weekend last year. I met a number of my racing heroes from the days when I lived in Indianapolis and attended the Indy 500. I met Rick Mears, Johnny Rutherford, Helio Castroneves, and many, many others. Winning the HPDE prize was nice, too.

    See you all there!

Did the prices change? I thought I saw an option that included corral, car, and grandstand for the entire weekend for 200 something?

Yes, prices decreased significantly from last year, as we worked tirelessly with BGP during the off-season to ensure a better value for our members. For example, parking is down from $35/day to $30/day. Grandstand (GS) seating this year is $85 for 2 days vs $115 last year. And, we've added the option to purchase General Admission (GA) race tickets instead of GS which can further reduce your cost (although wouldn't you rather be with all your fellow CCAers in the GS with a Jumbotron to watch the rest of the race?).

I'm all signed up and anxiously waiting. The parking is a no-brainer in my mind, and unless you want to spend the entire day in the Grandstands, the Corral is another gotta-have.

Thanks for working to get the costs down, that is awesome.

Question about the grandstand seats. Last year I was in grandstand 8, for practice, quali, and the support races it was fine. When the ALMS race started everyone showed up and there was no space between people. It made the whole race pretty uncomfortable.

Was the reserved grandstand like that too? I'd love to get a grandstand seat that wasn't so packed.

That's going to be tough to answer since we aren't given the number of total tickets sold where our grandstand seats are. We're still working on getting overflow seating areas in various places along the track, but probably won't know until the week of the race. I don't remember the past few years having our grandstands filled with that many people, maybe others can chime in.

The other recourse is to watch the race in corral tent since we'll have a closed circuit feed.

Sure, it's tough to know exactly how this year will turn out. I was looking to hear how the grandstand was last year just as a comparison to my experience in grandstand #8.

I was in grandstand 5 last year, and while it did fill up at the race, everyone seemed to observe they're seat assignments, and it's wasn't that bad.

Are the grandstand tickets sold through the club unassigned?

Our GS tickets will have a row and seat number assigned to it; HOWEVER, we will have full reign over the entire grandstand to sit where ever we want...literally. Since we reserved it several months ago, the general public can not buy seats in our GS (it looks like anyone can, but they will be moved if not with our corral) and our GS area shouldn't be crowded at all. In addition, our GS tickets will give us additional access to other grandstands TBD (hopefully along Pratt St and others), so there will be no shortage of seating areas during the race.

Sales have been brisk, but still plenty of room for you and your guests to attend our biggest event of the year. We've also announced the sale of our commemorative BGP polo shirts and a block of greatly priced hotels specifically for CCA members.

Do not wait, register now before we're sold out as in our 2 prior years.

How does this work for a 2.5 year old? Are they consider a "person?"

The general rule is everyone pays for corral and reserved grandstand tickets, same rule as years past. Infants, however, we can make exceptions for (unless your 2.5 y/o plans to eat all the BBQ lol).

This year we've added the option to purchase general admission tickets (instead of reserved grandstand) which are a lot less expensive. In addition, all juniors (under 12) are FREE with the purchase of general admission tickets.
