Looking for some help with experience to assist me in removing my 2006 3.0 si Z4Convertible Top. I need to replace the top motor. I have all the directions and tips from a friend "Shipkiller" on the National board ( we just can't sync up our schedules).
It doesn't look to tough, but it is an all day job, pulling the top, replacing the motor and weather proofing it's container, then reinstalling the motor, hydraulic lines and top. Willing to supply the beer or burbon, dinner and good cigar for your assistance or provide you my assistance on your future projects. I'm pretty good E30 Mechanic and have done all of my maintance on it for the last 5 years.
I have a garage with all the tools required to remove the top. I just can stomach paying BMW stealer ship 4.5 K to do this job! They wanted to charge me with 20 percent BMW member discount 1K for the motor! I got the OEM part for $405.00.
