Ride alongs should be with a more experienced AX person, not someone who just wants to ride shotgun. Its to provide a feel for AX as a whole, get a better understanding of what line you'll take, and to learn the course. I'm sure there are others reasons people may have.

Please no wives, girlfriends, mistresses, kids, dogs, cats, or other pets

So its a 100% go. Question though, the rules generally are no ride alongs right? As in my wife could not ride along with me.

3.14.6 Passengers
Only Chapter designated instructors or other experienced drivers as designated by the event officials are allowed to take passengers for rides during their runs. Passengers must have signed all required insurance waivers.

No one under the age of 18 will be allowed to ride along. For safety reasons inexperienced drivers will not be allowed to have ride alongs. The autocross committee will make all final determinations regarding who is an "experienced driiver". We know most of the regulars so if your are new to our program please come and introduce yourself at the trailer. We can discuss ride alongs and determine your experience level.

12:15pm. Our aim is to have first car off in the PM about 12:45pm, but all the pm times are flexible due to timing of am session.

That's Frank. It used to be Danny's Caterham. VERY fun car. I'm sure he wouldn't mind you tagging on for a ride along. Though looking at the forcast for this weekend, I'd be surprised if he shows up with it.

I think working the course is half the fun. I like to work first so that I get a sense where the right approaches are.

Fun?, don't know about that, but it is invaluable to watch the tricky sections done right and wrong maybe 75 times,it might even be better than walking it.
