Anyone have a recommendation for a shop that does wheel straightening in MD or No. VA? I recently got a set of MINI BBS wheels that appear to have encountered a massive pothole and come out the worse for the experience. Trying to find a reasonably priced solution to straighten out before scrapping.

Ye Ole Wheel Shop in Elkridge, MD is where I'll be taking my summer wheels once I take them off. They do quality work, but not that quick.

I use Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists near Laytonsville, MD. I have used Ye Olde Wheel before - but the wait time (as Paul notes) is really rough (38 days the last time I was there).

Ye Olde Wheel shop will also test your patience. So make sure you know what you want to do before calling them or setting up an appointment. They can come off as a bunch of a-holes, but the work they do, from what I hear, is amazing. Just be ready to wait a few weeks for repairing a couple road rashes on your wheels. By the way, don't bother calling to get a status. You will only agitate them further.

Wheel Doctor is another damn good shop, maybe better in some respects as the techs are very meticulous in their work. To boot, they are very professional and punctual on their time estimates of completion. If they have any issues, they will call you. And, in contrast to Ye Olde Wheel shop, Wheel Doctor will actually call you to notify you when your wheels will be done and ready for pickup.

If you're getting tires too, Radial Tire may be able to hammer out the dents while they're at it. Otherwise, you might want to try Alloy Wheel Repair specialists that Alan mentioned. I think it's the same mobile wheel repair service Euro Motorcars in Germantown uses. Last time I checked (2 years ago?), the going rate was about $150 to straighten a wheel.

I used them last year and it was a buck fifty to straighten and paint a wheel. They do excellent work, I was very happy with the repair.

I recommend Wheel Doctor. They refinished a set of MPars for me earlier this year and are picking up another set for refinishing tomorrow. They do fabulous work. In addition to the refinishing they straightened one wheel and welded a crack in another. They pick up and deliver as well. Call Dan at 301-651-6186 (cell)

I've used Ye Olde Wheel Shop in the past and they did a good job, just not quickly. Wasn't a problem for me as my car was being painted but if you're in any kind of hurry don't use them.
