Greetings, all!
It's been a long time since I parted ways with my '72 Bavaria (E3), and we briefly owned "The Beast", a 1991 535i (E34).
After driving "practical" cars for many years while raising our family, my wife and I recently stumbled across a 2006 530xi Sports Wagon (E61) with a six-speed manual, the Premium- and Cold Weather Packages, and only 40K miles on the odometer. It's silver gray (A08) with black interior.
The car is wonderful, but that #%@ &%*# CDV has got to go! In fact, the replacement arrived yesterday from Zeckhausen.
We love great road trips, and we've done two this year, covering ~10K miles. One was to ME, and the other was to NM, AZ, NV, UT, ID, OR, WA, MT, WY and NE. We're looking forward to learning, sharing, and enjoying.
Finally, this is a now a multi-generation passion for us. Our older son, fellow member "goodnight85", bought The Beast from us, and he's joined up as well.
