    What's shaking?

    Anyone feel the earthquake?

    Magnitude 5.9

North of 64. NW of Richmond.

I felt it in Greenville SC. My computer monitor started to shake.

WTOP reports it was felt as far north as Boston and Toronto.

The coupe almost rolled off the single jackstand it was balanced on, I thought it was my "FAULT" but then saw some waves in the pool!

I thought you're supposed to stay indoors during an earthquake. Seems like all of DC evacuated outside, left work, and they are all stuck in traffic now, especially with trains not running much

This is from a city that told us to duct tape our windows in the event of a chemical attack. And you are too young to remember hiding under desks in the event of a nuclear attack.

indoors? I suppose that depends where you are and if the buildings are designed for seismic activity. I went outside - working in a warehouse-turned-R&D-chemistry lab, i think thought there are no overhead dangers outside, especially from the perspective of not knowing what might have been released indoors.
