A number of chapter members participated in the Tarheel Chapter's massive school on the Grand East Course (4.2 miles) at VIR. There were 180 students and 100 instructors for this event. Despite 45 cars in each student session, there was no down time as a pace car led each group on its warm up lap just after the last car in the preceeding group went past the pits. I am only aware of one incident that resulted in bent sheet metal and that occurred in Saturday morning's rain.
The Grand East Course adds 10 turns to the already wonderful Full course. There were 32 turns in all by my count.

JoElla had mentioned 33 A turns. 32-33, there were a lot.
I was stuck in traffic the 3rd session on Sunday. I saw a lot of people pitting for space so I kept going. Then I got bunched up again in the braking zones and pitted. I had almost a clear track for the remaining few laps. The last session I ended up gridding first and it worked out better. At least the cars that were passing me accelerated enough for me not to catch up in the braking zone.
Saturday the sessions seemed too long and Sunday too short.
A nice configuration once you have driven the other configurations first.
This B group was much faster than last Nov's B group.
