Red face Help with reset immobiliser Code (1999 E36)

..This is the owner-entered 4-digit code using the CODE button in the lower row of the ODB II set of buttons...
I was cleaning up the dashboard w/radio playing (i.e. Accessories on)...evidently hit the Code button AND "randomly" the four "decade" (1000, 100, 10, 1) buttons...now no start, it's asking for the CODE _ _ _ _. Of course I have no idea what the code was...I wasn't looking (doohhh...).

Does re-programming the FOB, or some door lock rotation sequence defeat this??

    Thanks,
    Mike.
