This will be our last month at Looney's and a new location will be announced at the May Looney's meet. While Looney's is slightly south of Columbia, its still in Howard county (Rt 216 & Rt 29) and very accessible for those in Baltimore, Annapolis, DC, MD, and NoVa.
We have reserved a semi-private room that will hold all of us and they can handle however many people show up (a huge problem for many other locations). Our section is located next to the kitchen and one of the bars and the atmosphere is great. Check out their website below for pictures, menu, events, etc.
They have a huge, lighted parking lot right across the street in front of the professional building that will fit our needs very well. The food and drinks are great too!!!
In order to continue having future socials, the club will cover up to $20/member, so we'll collect $ to help cover the remaining part of the bill/gratuity (usually $5-10/head). Those who have a few more drinks or order more expensive food items will need to chip in more than those who stay within the $20/head limit.
Get there early to get a good spot; we'll hangout starting at 6p (weather permitting) and go inside by 7pm
Billy, I totally agree with you. I'd be happy to just stay at Looney's indefinitely. Plenty of parking, good location, good distance from my house. What's the rush to go somewhere else?

We usually change location a few times a year so it doesn't get stale. I like Looney's too, but I get constant requests to go different spots, so I use the poll so people can give their input.
You should have started a 'Save Looneys' campaign; maybe you would have convinced a few people to change their vote

I want to say that I will be there because I have missed the last couple, but I have to pick up my daughter from her new job. I am trying to find out how late she will be there to see if I can attend. Its been really hectic the past month or so. My baby is all buffed out and hasn't been able to make an appearance.
Just got a call from Looney's saying they reconfigured the backroom where we usually meet and it now holds a lot less people. We will now be in the section in front of the bar, just outside the backroom, just as you walk up the 2 steps.
Looks like they gave me another reason to switch locations for the next few months Sorry for the last minute notification and hopefully it won't be too loud.

Just got a call from Looney's saying they reconfigured the backroom where we usually meet and it now holds a lot less people.
I'm not sure that really makes sense for Looney's. We have pretty much filled that back room, even on the nights when the weather was less than perfect. Even when not filled, there didn't appear to be a problem with them seating people in there with us. Maybe someone complained about being seated in the middle of a group gathering or something. I swear, I sometimes wonder what these managers at these places are thinking during these hard economic times. Just doesn't seem like good business sense to me, but what do I know?
