    11/06/2010 - 11/07/2010 - Battlefields and BMWs

This year's Fall Tour will be Nov 6-7. The theme is "A Civil War Trail" and we'll be starting in Manassas and touring Manassas, Antietam, and Gettysburg Battlefields. Lunch will be along the way. Our dinner, reception, and overnight will be at the Hershey Lodge in Hershey PA. There are lots of details to be worked out but as in years past, we'll have two days of events and driving, and a reception and buffet dinner at the Lodge. As an added bonus, you'll be able to stop at Algie's favorite, Catoctin Mountain Orchard on the way home from Hershey to pick up some pies to go with your Hershey Chocolate sweets.

Save the date and stay tuned for additional information.

The Tourmistress (Robin) came up with a much catchier name for the Fall Tour: "Battlefields and BMWs." Henceforth, it shall be known.

Update on Lodging for the Tour: Apparently, the entire Hershey Lodge is now sold out for the weekend. There is a Days Inn and a Best Western very close by that have availability. You can still register for and attend the Tour, reception, dinner etc. and will still use Motorsportreg.com to register for the event.

Well, I managed to score a room, but the reservation person said the block was filled up. Must be quite a crowd that is going this fall.

There will be 6 Maryland cars with BMW TAGS on the tour. Do I need to send a personal email to the other 9 cars from Maryland who do not YET have their tags? You know who you are..........If you complete the forms before October 28 - I will work with DMV to get you your BMW CLUB TAGS before the tour.......

Can't wait! Hopefully we don't run into any washed out/gravel covered roads this time :-).

(I know this was beyond the Tourmeister's control in the Spring)

I plan to bring my M as the weather looks to be sunny both days.

    Cheers,

Enjoyed watching the BMWs passing by the sandwich shop on mainstreet in Shepardstown on Saturday, everybody looking good! Didn't make the trip as my 528e is in my garage prepping for its new MM cylinder head, but was in the area with the Honda Fit Sport, visiting. To the driver of the black M3 sedan (with the Jackson Hole, WY, license plate frame) following my silver Fit, I hope I didn't hold you up too long, going along the river on the way into Shepardstown, until you got a chance to pass. BTW, what tires are you running? Glad everybody had a great time and great weather.
