Removal of Starter on E30

To all Bimmerheads especiall E30 gang:

Does anyone know how to remove stater without placing E30 on Jacks? The upper bold seems to be challenging. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Take out the airbox, afm and the intake air hose/boot. Disconnect the wires. Get a really long 10mm (I think) open end wrench, and use that to hold the top hex head on the bellhousing. Then you need a socket with a universal joint attached to a long extension. Snake that onto the starter bolts from the airbox area. The lower bolt can be tricky from up top - easier to reach from below. You can use something like a really long flathead screwdriver to hold against the hex head so it won't spin.
