99 e46 323 steering wheel removal

Anyone know how to remove the steering wheel from a 99 e46 323i? or how do you remove the airbag from the 4 spoke steering wheel? sorry, i don't have a bentley yet.

Well, first you have to disconnect the battery otherwise if you disconnect the air bag you'll get a light on the dash. I would not mess with the air bag with the power on, might even deploy, who knows.

I finally figured it out. The airbag is held in by 2 T-30 star bolts, I need to turn the steering wheel and put in a vertical position to see and access the bolts. after the airbag was removed everything else is pretty straight forward in getting to the turn signal stalk.
