    transmission service

    Hello All:
I have my 325i (2005) nearing 65k. I haven't made any known transmission services. I experience a slight movement when I change it to PARK which wasn't there previously, is this sign of car getting old or can I fix it. I am doing a transmission fluid flush next week, is there something else I have to do along with it. Is there a regular maintenance for transmission.
    Thank you,
    Krishna

Hey Krishna, if you have an automatic transmission you'll need to replace the filter during the service. In our E90 325xi we get the transmission service every 60,000 miles. Happy Motoring...

    Hey Zach:
Do you suggest a place to buy them or should I call Convenience car care and arrange for the parts.

Check around and see what people are saying about auto fluid changes at that mileage in your car. Past a certain point it's better never to change the fluid than risk dislodging the crap that's built up inside.

I had the BG fluid flush performed on our '00 328i with GM auto tranny & 69K miles by Convenience Car Care at the Oct DIY. I wasn't having any problems, but want it to remain that way. Didn't change the filter, but will do that at ~100K.

having replace an auto transmission last year at 90k, if i had to do it all over again, i would have done a full flush at 60k when no problems are present

You should change gearbox fluid every 30k. A flush is about $300-$350, gearbox $5000. When you start having problems it's too late. BMW maintenance program is a joke and only service they want to do on your car at 60k is replace your gearbox, conveniently right after warranty expires.

Krisha, I would check other forums and do the research before jumping into any major project. My understanding BMW has done away with maintenance programs starting in the '90 going forward. Check around. Also check with Gary Martin where you had your rear rotors changed.

    Happy Motoring
