    Anyone use this before?

Does it really work as advertised? I'm highly skeptical about it, but thought I'd see if there are any first hand experiences here

    Paul,

I had asked a similar question on the website a while ago, and was pointed to: http://www.langka.com/

This is a similar product to the Billy Mays one, in that it fills the "gap" of the scratch, and the "excess" is removed and then polished over. Langka's product is not a pen though, it's a small brush. There are repair pens on the internet, similar to the Billy Mays product, but they don't work as well (or so my research at the time indicated).

In addition to the Langka kit, you need some of the BMW paint, which you can get from Evan Winstead at Tischer online or otherwise.

I performed a repair in this manner, I didn't have a great result to be honest. But, my research showed that the Titanium Silver is a tough color to touch up.

Which of your cars has the scratch?

I have another scratch around my driver's rear fender and on the rear bumper, I will try again with the Langka kit. Certainly it's better than before the repair, it's just that you can tell when you look at it that there was a repair.

I've used Langka for >10 years to repair stone chips and door dings. It's some sort of polish that allows you to remove the excess factory touch-up paint. Metallic paints are more difficult as the flakes don't stay suspended well.

Dr. ColorChip has been favorably reviewed:

With the surprising exception of OxiClean, I've always been skeptical of the as-seen-on-TV stuff, and figured Billy was actually scratching the car and they were just running the film backwards!

never used either, but that damn buyfixit website wouldn't let me close the tab without continually popping up dialogs I had to click. I finally killed my browser. Based on that alone, I would never buy that item.

I've used DrColorChip successfully on a few cars. It's fairly easy to use, and the paint has always matched.

    Dr. ColorChip.

Is it for the roady? If so, I have a kit and we can "repair" yours.

Is there a DIY this weekend? If so, I might have to bring the Jeep out. I have to get to the fuel pump for an o-ring repair. I can bring my Dr. ColorChip kit for you to use.
