Cumberland autocross weekends in the summer are a great place to take your S.O. Friday nights the city hosts a big party on a downtowin street. Several bands and the restaurant/bars are set up with sidewalk tables and chairs. Saturday night one of the local autocrossers hosts a cookout at his farm. This guy has one of the best Corvette collections in the country on display.

The Cumberland autocrosses are a blast. Unfortunately, I haven't been up there since 2007.

At one time Cumberland was the 2nd largest city in Maryland (to Baltimore).

The Cumberland autocrosses are a blast. Unfortunately, I haven't been up there since 2007.

There's one on the 25th. Who wants to caravan up there Saturday after the NCC finale? It's not that far (or that cold) Then we can all caravan up to NJMP for the NJ BMW Lightning event on Monday. That sounds like a nice long weekend. Who's in?

Actually I read that within the last year. I think Cumberland was that big until the 70s or 80s when several big companies closed their plants.

Dinner last night? Catfish. Tuesday night? Bratwurst Monday night? Can't remember.
