Spa F1 Qualifying Results

Under perfect weather conditions the final results are pretty wild:

Giancarlo Fisichella FIRST in a Force India car.
Jarno Trulli second in a Toyota
Nick Heildfeld third in a BMW
Robert Kubica fifth in the other BMW

Hamilton, Alonso, Button and Kovalainen 12th thru 15th.

The race is on Speed beginning with the pre-race show at 7:30am tomorrow.

The start (and first 1/2 lap) by the Ferrari driver in P6 was nothing less than incredible.

. . .until he went wide at Le Combe add caused the back up which resulted in Grojean and all the others hitting each other. This might have been a classic race if Hamilton and Button remained in the mix.

True, but he was running pretty hot up the straight and knew he had to pass Fisi or trail him the rest of the race (Fisi proved he had the faster car overall). Too bad Trulli got knocked out at Le Combe as well running into his rear.

It was Kubica that Kimi passed on the first run up to Le Combe. It was after the re-start than he (and KERS) made the pass on Fisichella.

He knew what he had to do, and did it. And what he did on the 1st Lap took real cojones. He and Ferrari have had a rough year. Like him or not, he deserves a great deal of credit for winning his 4th Belgian Grand Prix in 5 years.
