Chapterfest '09 Question pertaining to Show & Shine

Good morning,

My name is Navin and have been a NCC CCA member for the past 9 years now. I plan on attending my first ever Chapterfest and possibly participate in the Show & Shine, but wanted to get more details about how exactly the Show & Shine works.

Is this basically a competition to see who has the absolute cleanest car? Are there any other criteria that the cars get judged on other than cleanliness? Do the spectators judge or will there be appointed judges there to judge the cars?

This is the second year for the show & shine at ChapterFest, and is an opportunity to show off your car and your handiwork with the other members.
This is not a judged concours event - think "cruise-in," with People's Choice awards for vintage (before 1989 in this case) and modern models (after 1990) in the following categories:
Car I most want to drive
Car with the most character
Car with the most passionate owner

Can anyone give me a reason it's called a Show and Shine instead of the more chronologically correct Shine and Show??

Good point, Woody. I'll bet there WILL be some shining done after the cars & owners show up!

Perhaps the originators are from Pittsburgh, home of Eat and Park.
