Would anyone be interested in getting together for beer, cigars and friendly games of poker?

You bet!!
I'm in Columbia, would love a friendly, and (relatively) low stakes game (either a hold-em tournament with a fixed buy-in or a free-form game, but with reasonable bet limits).
I'm happy to help organize if needed (I have 2 sets of chips).

I'm always down for beer and poker as long as it's for real money like $20-$50 buy in.
Looks like there is plenty of interest so I am going to throw out two date for the first game.
July 24th or the 31st, 6pm - ??. Location: TBD (Laurel/Columbia area).
Reply letting me know which date works best for you.

At the moment the 24th is OK for me, not sure I can sell it to "the Boss" (my wife). 31st is not good for me.
Not a great time for me to host the game, our kitchen is being redone so at the moment I don't have one. Happy to bring along supplies as needed (food, drinks, cigars, chips). Always good to bring singles, for making change at the end of the night!
Paul, I have been in your shoes, it was relatively easy for me to learn these games (particularly if we are only playing hold 'em, but even if we change the games up they all have the same core concepts; the rest is strategy). There are online *free* poker sites, that is a great place to learn the games. As a warning, they are addicting and can become big time consumers (and lead to the *not free* poker sites, which can get dangerous).

Those can work for me, but driving to MD from nova at 6 might be trouble. 20-50$ buy in is cool, lets keep it small.
