    Baltimore Grand Prix?

I like the sound of this...

If IndyCar is still in existence by 2011, I'd very ecstatic to see a Baltimore street race on the calendar. Maybe they could lump it with Grand-Am, NASCAR Busch, ALMS, SCCA, etc. into an awesome event?

I saw a map of the proposed course in the newspaper. I think we should go test it out...

How cool, hope no cars get caught in any cross fire on city streets though. Wait, that just might make it more interesting to watch.

I think they will have to do some MAJOR repair work (i.e. completely re-paving) to those roads...

Very cool, thanks for posting the link. This is one of the coolest ideas I've seen in a while, I'm sure there will still be people who complain about the "noise" though.

There's a Washington circuit in my PS3 game GRID. Wonder if the layout is the same? Running by the USDA building, west on Independence..

A Baltimore GP would be awesome! Sam's testing would have to be be in line with driving seen in the Stockholm Getaway movies, though you'd either need to speed the video by x2 or slap a huge turbo in that E30 to compare against the 911 Turbo, Escort Cosworth and Supra. (if you haven't seen the Stockholm Getaway series, I almost suggest you do..)

Yeah, 2002? By all accounts except the neighbors and perhaps financially, it was a great event. Not a street course, but a 1.7-mile track laid out in the parking lot on the NE side of RFK Stadium. The ALMS race included Audi R8s, Panoz LMPs, and Riley-Cadillacs, ex-PTG M3s, etc. Support races included the Trans-Am, Formula Mazda, Panoz Women's Challenge, and the SCCA World Challenge GT and Touring Cars. The 45-car Touring field included 22 BMWs. Today this class has a dozen starters with 3-BMWs.
