    subframe bushing tool

I know the club has one that is available at the DIYs. Who has it, and is it possible to borrow it for use not at one of the DIYs?

I am in the process of taking the car apart in the garage to get ready for the next autox season, and need to replace the bushings. Problem is I need to get it done before the next DIY in order to get everything else finished. And no Nick, I'm don't want to take a torch to them.

I know someone who owns the E30 subframe tool. I'll see if he's willing to rent/loan it out since the club tools are apparently to be kept under armed guard and away from club members at all times.

Edit: And as a side note, you can actually make the subframe bushing press out of bits and pieces from home depot. We had to do that when we did a full suspension refresh on an E39 wagon, which uses special bushings for which the tool is essentially unobtanium and absurdly expensive. (Well, actually, there was an acetylene torch and some 1/4" metal flat stock that we hammered into a spacer as well, but the E30 has nice simple bushings.)

Made my own! You can borrow it if you like.

I know it looks like a redneck piece of crap but it worked pretty good once I got it dialed in.
