    Powdercoating shop in MD?

anyone know of a good powder coating shop in MD, preferably near the Columbia area although I have no problems traveling.

Looking to possibly get some quad exhaust tips done in a gunmetal color.

I cannot personally recommend any of these, because I have never had anything powdercoated. Maybe they will help.

They did my bike frame and my '02 head cover. Bike frame came out with orange peel which I sanded down (1500#) and polished. Looks great. Head cover looks good also. I think I paid around $150 for both, but it's been a couple of years.

    Haven't tried:

They can do your whole car, I understand.

Finally, if you have access to an oven that isn't used for cooking food, take a look at the powder coating gun at Sears for around $100.

Can anyone comment on the rumor I have heard concerning Powdercoating wheels? I heard/read that the heat used to bake and cure the powder is high enough that it weakens alloy wheels.
I am prepping a set of wheels for painting right now with many applications of oven cleaner to remove the millimeters deep caked on PF97 and Hawk blue dust. I am planning to use a strong primer, 2 coats of Wurth silver, and a coat or two of clearcoat. Any bright ideas to ease the removal of this uber dust would be appreciated.

    Bob -

Brian Hair turned me on to a product called Rejex. It works very well on wheels. In fact, I now also use it on the car. Recommend it highly.
