SpeedTV is in the course of showing the whole season within a few weeks. Portland and Lime Rock were also shown last Saturday. They'e not that fast - remember they're VW Diesels.

I think they were besting our laptimes around Thunderbolt... not that we were timing....it just looks faster on tv

VW did tests with the TDI for this TDI cup at VIR last I was there. They are so quiet, and fast I guess.. First race event at VIR was fun to watch. I thought that one guy was gonna flip it at the end.

Is it possible to find their laptimes? I went searching on the website, but couldn't get times.

VW Jetta TDI qualifying times at Thunderbolt ranged from 1:45 to 1:52


BUT that was in the rain. So don't get you hopes up Car 54. Best race laps were in the 1:32s so they are faster than a Z3 M Coupe.

At VIR best laps were 2:14.
While the TV coverage leads you to believe they are bone stock, one of the drivers told me the cars have Euro ECUs and several other small changes.
