BMW-Sauber has ended months of speculation about the future of Formula One driver Nick Heidfeld with an announcement that both he and his teammate Robert Kubica will return to drive for the team in 2008. Going into this weekend’s Grand Prix of Turkey, Heidfeld is fifth and Kubica is sixth in the F1 Drivers’ Championship.
The renewal of the two drivers’ contracts will help ensure continuity in development of the BMW-Sauber race car in the team’s quest to overtake McLaren and Ferrari, the only two teams ahead of it this season.
