BMW-Sauber Formula One racer Robert Kubica, returning from a one-race absence due to his horrendous crash in Canada, started fourth on the grid at the Grand Prix of France at the Magny-Cours circuit. He held on to the position to finish a lonely fourth in a race where the action took place both ahead of him and behind him. His teammate Nick Heidfeld finished fifth after battling with Fernando Alonso of McLaren Mercedes.
