BMW likely will proceed with the F3 crossover vehicle around 2010, AutoWeek magazine reports. It would be
7 inches shorter than an X3.

With sales of crossover vehicles surging on both sides of the Atlantic, BMW’s management has decided to proceed with production of the F3 crossover or sports activity vehicle, AutoWeek magazine reports in its May 28 issue. But the earliest we’d see the F3 is 2010 because BMW’s resources are stretched thin. And that’s if we ever see an F3 because while the F3 is likely to attract would-be buyers, there’s a question of whether BMW could properly price a European-built, smaller-than-X3 vehicle given the dollar’s sorry standing against the euro.
