The BMW 3 Series repeated as one of’s most wanted cars, as it has since 1999. The 5 Series and Mini Cooper also won. Four other BMW/Mini models were honorable mention. But the 2006 winner X5 fell off the SUV-under-$45,000 list.

Two BMWs and one Mini were among the 30 cars, trucks, and SUVs picked by the editors of for their annual “Most Wanted” feature. The BMW 3 Series was the sedan priced under $35,000 that the editors would most like to see in their garages, and the 5 Series is the sub-$60,000 sedan they most covet. The Mini Cooper took the honor among coupes priced under $30,000. Four other BMW/Minis were honorable mention.
The 3 Series has made the list since its inception in 1999, and beat out the honorable mention in the sub-$35,000 category, the Infiniti G35. “With a major redesign in 2006 which brought new features, more powerful engines and a slightly larger interior, the 3 Series is unbeatable in this category,” wrote the editors.
