    This isn't pretty!

Take a look at this and think about course design and control in the future.

I can just count the billable hours from the attorneys. Usually insurance goes with the car? GT3 looks like it maybe a track car. The other drivers comprehensive might over the damage from the GT3. The driver needs to put his assets in his kids, dogs and sheep names. Man I would be pissed if I had to file a claim on my insurance because of this guys stupidity. Course designer and the SCCA region also have a to sahre some of the responsibility. And the waiver they may ahve signed may not be valid because you can proof they should have known better than to have car aprking so close to the course.

This is key: "The guy let his friend drive the 4th run."
Something is wrong w/ the event staff to allow this and "the guy" for putting a novice behind the wheel. Of course, this is my opinion. I could be wrong.

Doesn't sound like the friend was a novice: "The friend was driving a nice mid 90's Vette and was one of the fastest cars in the run group."

This is a bad mistake, but it bears remembering that bad mistakes can happen even to people who know what they are doing.

Yeah, that's some nasty stuff.. I read about the same case on other forums. This is all over the net... We all should learn from this and try to prevent anything like it...

Of couse, track design people should have this in mind first.
Our track was safer yesterday as far as people going beyond the finish line

It irked me to have people argue with me about how poor the design was to have the parked cars on the same surface and within easy reach of the race line.
