BMW sales were up 2% in March and 4% for the year, helped by the 3 Series (+5,412 units), X5 (+1,893), Z4 (+906), and X3 (+631). Chart shows sales by month.
BMW Group sales climbed 4% in the first three months of 2007, from 72,587 to 75,433 sales of BMWs and Minis, a net gain of 868 unit sales. March sales were up more modestly, by 2%, from 28,352 to 28,980. For the quarter, BMW was paced by SAV sales, while BMW cars were up modestly and Mini sales were down, although not as badly in March as earlier in the year during the model changeover.

Sales of BMWs alone (no Minis) were up 7% for the quarter, from 63,102 to 67,360, and up 3% for March, from 24,500 to 25,325. In comparison, Mercedes-Benz had sales of 55,985 for the quarter, up 9%, and 21,612 for March, up 1%.
