Josef Kerschner, 53, succeeds Dr. Clemens Schmitz-Justen at the helm of BMW Manufacuring.
BMW Manufacturing Co. has a new president in Spartanburg, SC. He's Josef Kerscher, 53, who takes over for Dr. Clemens Schmitz-Justen, who had been in the position since June 2004. Kerscher started with BMW in 1979 in positions that included group leader and department head at the BMW's Landshut (Germany) plant, as director of assembly at the Munich plant, and as plant manager at the Munich plant. In Spartanburg, he takes over a rapidly growing plant with a third model, the X6, due for launch in a year.
