The Sigalsport Dinan-BMW Daytona Prototype scored its first overall win at the Grand Prix of Miami at Homestead-Miami Speedway Saturday. Veteran BMW racer Bill Auberlen passed the Suntrust Pontiac-Riley of Max Angelelli with 11 laps left in the 400 km race, and held on to win by a 1.79-second margin. It was just the eighth race for the Sigalsport Daytona Prototype team that runs the only BMW-Powered Prototype in the field.
Auberlen’s co-driver Matt Alhadeff had qualified the car 15th on the grid.
