Nick Heidfeld finished fourth in the season opener in Australia. Heidfeld qualfied third. Teammate Robert Kubica qualified fifth but went out while running fourth.
BMW-Sauber racer Nick Heidfeld of Germany finished fourth in the Formula One season opener in Melbourne, Australia on March 18. The overall win went to Kimi Raikkonen of Finland, who dominated the event in his first race for Ferrari.

The BMW-Sauber team showed great promise in the first race of its second season; Heidfeld had qualified third on the grid and his teammate Robert Kubica of Poland had qualified fifth. (For more on the cars go to http://www.bmwcca.org/node/6679.)
