Despite BMW's lesser presence in racing in the U.S. this year (no PTG BMWs this year for only the second time in more than a decade), BMW is far from gone. At Daytona this past weekend, a third of the entries in Grand-Am Koni Challenge field of 90 were BMWs. And the lone BMW entry in the premier, Daytona Prototype class in the Rolex 24, the Sigalsport BMW-Riley, made it into the top five before being damaged in an accident at midnight Saturday.
