small square of black electrical tape.
The same thing works on the persistant low brake pad warning light on my M3. Isn't that wild?
Actually I had the persistant airbag warning light on my recently purchased M Coupe. The previous owner paid for a new seat belt receptacle and that solved the problem.

can be very hard to properly diagnose without tools. i couls be practically any component in the system, including wiring harness.
i like bulb removal over black tape. looks cleaner.
i'm an anti-airbag person anyway.
