BMW Manufacturing is hiring 500 temp workers in addition to the 4,500 permanent employees. Could it be a ramp-up for another BMW model such as the X6?
BMW’s hiring for its Spartanburg, SC, workforce -- up to 500 temporary full-time positions this year on top of the 4,500 working to build Z4s and X5s. It may be for a surge in orders expected for the second-generation X5 and Z5 or it may be in anticipation of a new crossover/SAV, the X6.

MAU Workforce Solutions (www.mau.com) Monday began running online ads on its site seeking production associates at $12 an hour ($13 for night shift). According to the Greenville Herald-Journal, which ran print versions of the ad, MAU set up a six-day jobs fair on BMW’s behalf to solicit applicants to fill 500 positions. If you’re curious, search the MAU site on Greer, SC, as the location, not Spartanburg.
