BMW world-debuts the 3 Series convertible in Detroit. It has a power folding hardtop (three panels), anti-scald leather upholstery, and optional multicast HD Radio.
Look for three unveilings from BMW at the North American International Auto show in Detroit, which kicks off Sunday, Jan. 7 for the media, followed by industry and charity previews, with the public showing running Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, through Sunday, Jan. 21, at Cobo Hall. BMW will unveil its 3 Series convertible which BMW already previewed and the new Mini Cooper and Mini Cooper S.

The 3 Series convertible represents BMW’s first time with a power, folding hardtop. Others have been cloth/fabric with options for a slip-on winter hardtop that ran about $4,000. The three-panel top allows a quieter cockpit, more shoulder room in back, and greater driver visibility to the rear because the rear and side rear glass panels are larger.
