    Spring Tour 2007

I was playing with google earth to see what was around Berkeley Springs, WV. I found the Treetop Restaurant at the Coolfont Resort.
    http://www.coolfont.com/home.cfm.

    Has anyone been there?
Berkeley Springs is just far enough for a day tour plus has lots to see in town. Hopefully I can call them this week and we'll have another nice weekend to drive out there.

Edit: Coolfont is closed for construction. Oh well.

I scoped out some roads today while it's still warm out.
From Centreville to Berkeley Springs, about 3:30 hours.
Once we get West of Front Royal, it gets pretty nice.

I picked April 8 only to find it's Easter Sunday.
I have a habit of that.
I will see if April 15 is available.

    I'm looking into this place.

Only down side is parking is horrible.

Talking April 15 is OK for us

If I would be willing to let Miriam drive "Senior Moment", she could ride around the block while I had lunch. Maybe you could suggest that idea, too?

    I got a dumb question....

Is this starting in the Centreville in Fairfax county or the Centreville in Louisa county?

Are there stops along the way? Things to do? Or is is just all seat time (in which case I beleive I could get to B.S., WV in about 2 hrs...

    Thanks.

    I guess it's Fairfax.
There will be a pit stop in Front Royal.
You won't be able to do the trip in 2 hours.
It's all driving. Now sightseeing along the way unless you want to.
The trip will take 3 to 3 1/2 hours.

hmm... ok... I'm thinking it must be the centreville further south, because according to mapquest and yahoo, from the Fairfax Co. Centreville, it's only 96 miles (approx. 1hr 46mins)

    http://www.mapquest.com/directions/m...2ffi=&2ex=&2n=

vs. From the other centreville which is a 148 Mile trip (approx 2hr 48min).

It's not too late. I'd like to turn in the meals this weekend.

    Done! I am in. Thanks!

Looking forward to it now. Out of curiosity - how many folks normally attend an event like this?

Hopefully will have my summer tires on by then.

So much for being productive at work!

Although it doesnt seem to give much information except for the route... Was hoping Google's new make your own map feature would have been more useful.

    Pretty cool map.
We generally get 50-80 people on a day trip.
    Some overnights may get 100.
Currently there are 55 people registered.
30 will leave at 9:30 and the rest at 10:30.
The reason for the two start times was to make it easier for the restaurant to handle the group.
