BMW’s Hydrogen 7 drives just like a gasoline-only 7 Series except for a slightly coarser sound, says AutoWeek.
AutoWeek (Dec. 4) found “little discernible difference” in the BMW Hydrogen 7 whether it’s running on hydrogen or gasoline. In a recent test drive, writer Kevin Wilson noted the car sounds coarser when running on hydrogen. Power is the same 260hp in either gasoline or hydrogen mode, in part, Wilson writes, because the gasoline side was detuned to the level of the hydrogen fuel’s current capabilities for a more seamless transition and, as a bonus, it helps improve fuel economy somewhat.
