Question Rcmdtn Pls for E36 328ic Top Replacement

My '99 this summer had tension straps prob losing strength, then holes started in sides, now stopped halfway down. Got it "cranked" up okay...but at 102K might as well replace. Prefer Northern Virginia....

    Convertible top replacement

Lim's does excellent work, on seat repair and conv. top repair. I've used him many times for leather seat repair when I had my M635 and he did my VW convertible top.

i just got back from taking my car there today for the second time. i had a new top put on my e30 this summer and had to take it back after the 1st rainfall because the guy that put the top on forgot to put the 2 plastic/rubber pylon-looking thingies in place to prevent rain from pouring in between the top of the windshield and the front of the convertible top. no big deal. took 'em 2 minutes to install them and the leak stopped.

well, it stopped leaking from the front of the car. however, when i got in the car this morning the top was leaking from the stitched parts of the top. when i had them look at it, they said "yep, that's messed up. it shouldn't be doing that." then they asked me if i had used a caustic chemical to clean the top. i told them "nope. just soap and water like you told me." so the long and short of it is that i'm taking it back to them on monday to have them do "some tests" on the top to figure out if the manufacturer forget to seal part of the top - or some other reason that it is leaking.

otherwise, the guys there are helpful and knowledgeable. i'll keep you posted how they resolve this screw up.
