Need full AC Replacement on '78 320i

I don't recall the name, but the former BMW of Arlington mechanic who has his own shop now on the other side of Potomac Yards told me that he wouldn't touch it.
Maybe I need a restorationist who is out of town to consider the work. I'm not afraid to travel and already heard there is someone near Baltomore who restores but I don't have a name or number. Any ideas?

Have you priced the parts? OEM parts are very expensive since you have to convert R12 to 134. couple of years ago I had to replace the condenser? and it cost me close to $1500.00 for parts and labor.

You might check with Hancock or I.C.E., both A/C parts sources in TX - they advertise in the Roundel. VintageAir.com is another.
