Please enter through the South Entrance (the one closer to Route 50). Note that we will be using the rear portion of the ADESA parking lot. You will have to check-in with the security guard on the left side of the building (as you are facing the building).
PLEASE NOTE – Trucks and any type of SUV are NOT allowed to participate in these classes. This includes, but is not limited to, all JEEPs, Explorers, Expeditions, Suburbans, Tahoes, BMW X5s, Mercedes M Class, Lexus RX and similar vehicles. While we strongly encourage students to use the vehicle that they drive regularly, we cannot allow certain vehicles with a high center of gravity due to the risk of a roll-over under hard cornering. If you have any questions about whether your vehicle will be allowed to participate, either prior to or after registration, please send an email to the registrar (Rafael Garces at NCCStreetSurvival@gmail.com ).
The following are general instructions to prepare you for having some fun and learning how to be a safer and better driver.
1. If you are under 18, please make sure you bring the "Minor Waiver" form (you should have downloaded this during registration at the BMW Foundation website). This form should be signed by BOTH parents. If for some reason, yours is a single parent family, please note this on the form. THIS FORM IS MANDATORY. It is an insurance requirement. Everyone who stays will be asked to sign the general Waiver. Again, this is an insurance requirement.
2. Please bring a PHOTOCOPY of your driver's license and insurance card. We need it for our records. We will ask for this at registration.
3. Please arrive as close to 8:00am as possible. We will be conducting registration and performing a brief safety inspection of your vehicle. Class starts promptly at 9:00am and the in-car sessions begin at 10:00am. You will be separated into 4 groups and then you will rotate around a series of six in-car exercises throughout the rest of the day.
4. Clean out your car before arriving at the school. This means remove ALL loose items from the interior. As part of our inspection we will make sure that you have removed any phones, change, purses, shoes, gym clothes, etc. We will also ask you to remove the driver's floor mat and EVERYTHING from the trunk except for the spare tire and jack (as long as they are securely fastened).
5. Dress appropriately for the day's event. You will be in and out of the cars all day long. We run the event rain or shine. If it rains, we still run the event. If rain is expected (or possible) please bring rain gear and / or umbrellas. Don't forget the sunscreen. Even on a cloudy day, you can get a sun burn.
6. NO SANDALS OR OPEN TOE SHOES. Please wear closed toe shoes such as running shoes or sneakers.
7. We will be providing a simple lunch - pizza or sandwiches along with water and sodas. If you have special dietary needs, please bring your own appropriate food and drink. We will have water available throughout the day and you need to remember to keep yourself well hydrated. Lunch will be in the cafeteria and bathroom facilities are available.
8. Parents and friends are welcome to join you. In fact, we encourage the parents to stay, learn and help. Parents and guests may attend the classroom sessions (space permitting), but they may not participate in the driving exercises or ride in the cars.
9. You should arrive with at least 3/4 of a tank of fuel. There are several gas stations on Route 50 immediately East of Route 606. The closest gas station is approximately 2 miles from the ADESA Facility.
10. Please bring a good attitude.
Our goal is to teach you driving techniques to help you avoid an accident and to be a safer driver. We also want you to have fun as you're learning.
