If you happened to check the link today for an article on the forthcoming Z4 M Coupe, don't be despaired, as I was, by the price mentioned ($75,000). John Hartge quickly figured out this was a Canadian website.

Speedtv is reporting the M Coupe will have a V8 from the new M3 with 388hp and Autoweek only talks about a the I6 from the current M3. Price of the M Coupe with the V8 according to Speed is $67K.
Shame BMW wont sell a M 3 series wagon with 388hp. Just the thing for getting to herding trials on time. M5 is just a little out of my price range.

I'm hearing the Z4 M Coupe won't get the V8 until the E90 M3 is introduced with it - sometime in 2007.

Compared to the regular Z4 it has a wider rear track and a narrower front track. Can you say 'understeer'?Originally Posted by bren

Here's a snippet form the latest Autoweek witht ehCoupe on the cover:
True to his word, the BMW chairman has delivered the new car with only minor stylistic changes and, in a sign of just how advanced its development was at the time the concept car was wheeled out, in the space of just four months. There’ll be two distinct versions initially: a standard 3.0-liter 265-hp Z4 coupe priced in the lower $40,000 range, and the performance-oriented 3.2-liter 343-hp Z4 M Coupe priced close the Cayman S at $58,900.

It will be interesting to see if the handling of the Z4 coupe will match the power to weight ratio. The Cayman has been getting terrific reviews for its handling and balance. If the Z4 can come close, then Porsche may have some serious competition on its hands.
Although, I must admit. I like the looks of the Cayman better.
Of course, I can't afford either one.
