Bluetooth in 2001 E46 M3

Have any of you guys attempted to use any Bluetooth kits in a E46 older than 2002?

From what I understand the BMW bluetooth kit works fine with cars 2002 and newer but one has to go for some other vendor's bluetooth kits for a retro fit to older cars.

Anybody done this successfully?

Would like to have it in my car but don't want to be the first guinea pig

yes, you can install Bluetooth in the 2001 E46 as well.

Thanks Martin - I checked it out - but I guess for $650 I can probably do without it

Didn't realise these things would be SO expensive!
