I'm thinking seriously of going to Bimmerfest East 2016 when that comes around on July 30 & 31. Has anyone here ever been to an East Coast Bimmerfest? Does anyone have any comments/advice/suggestions/warnings?

I won't be able to go this year, but its a good show. Tons of modded cars, drag racing, autocross, and burnout competitions. It may not be everyone's 'thing' but fun to watch.
If you're adventurous, there are a few caravans heading up there; white-knuckle driving at its best! Its about an hour from NYC if you get bored.

I haven't been to it since it moved to NJ, but as a vintage BMW fan/owner, it didn't have much to offer me. It's a tremendous turnout, many vendors, and everyone is a BMW enthusiast, but it skews toward E36 and newer models. Not that there's anything wrong with that!!

They seem to be trying to change that. They have a reserved area for classics (3 Series E21 & older, 5 Series E28 & older, 6 Series E24 & older, and any BMW built before 1982). Their running list of cars people have promised to bring at the moment lists 467 cars with 62 having E#s lower than 36.
I feel increasingly obligated to go myself because my E91 is still the only E91 on the list...
