Need tool for doing shocks

I will be putting new shocks on my E39 (528i, 5-speed) in a week or so and would like to borrow or rent the BMW tool #31-2-240 that is used to separate the ball joint from the steering knuckle. Does anyone have one for loan or know where I can rent one? I'm in western Loudoun County.

The cost for a new one is pretty high (~$250.00) so I'd like to avoid having to purchase one myself.

However the pickle forks will destroy the ball joints and steering knucle areas when used.
