    E46 Parking Brake Adjustment

What is the proper technique to turning the parking brake adjustment gear in the rear wheel through the tiny lug hole. I see the spring and the gear but don't see any way of properly adjusting left or right. Special tools? Tricks? ugh!

I believe your are supposed to use a screwdriver to turn little adjuster (gear). But I don't recall which direction tightens / loosens.

It's not really "turn" left or right, but more along the lines of "push" the gear towards the front or rear of the car.

Pelican Parts has a nice write up (with pics) that is on their website. It's for an E36 but the procedure is the same.
