Another New Introduction by Old Member
I haven't been using the forum for quite awhile but it seems timely to re-introduce myself after having joined the club in 2010. I currently drive an Estoril Blue 2014 M235 which is definitely the best Bimmer that I have had to date. While long interested in all things BMW, I didn't get my first, an R1100S boxer twin motorcycle, purchased in Vienna, Austria, until I was working there in 2002. After that, I managed to get a new Euro-spec 2006 Z4 while living and working in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, where I also kept the bike. After a new marriage and baby, the Z4 became impractical, not least because of generally poor roads in Uzbekistan. After returning to the US in early 2010 after selling the R1100S in Tashkent to a Swiss UN diplomat, I replaced it with a K1200S in the US and bought a very used 2001 BMW E46 325ci convertible with 5-speed and 155,000 miles. Despite the 325's reliability, I got the X5 bug and bought a used, high-mileage 2002 only to pour money into repairs. Fed up with this, I got rid of both and bought a 2008 328i E90 Sedan with low mileage in pristine condition and later added a BMW Performance Exhaust and Air Filter System. Should have stopped there but had been watching closely the development of the 2 series and decided in April 2014, to go for the new M235 which I have not regretted. Still riding the K1200S to work most days, though.
