A buddy of mine got a set of H&R springs when he bought his used R53. How much would it cost in labor to change all 4 suspension and can he use stock Mini Cooper S shocks with H&R springs? My recommendation will probably be to change the shocks since they're probably quite worn out by now. What shocks do you guys recommend for an R53 with H&R springs? Koni FSD, Koni yellow, Bilstein Sport? Thanks guys..
Your friend should join DC Metro Minis (search it). They have a wealth of help on tap and would be able to help your friend swap the springs and shocks in about 4-5 hours.
There are plenty of opinions on shocks. Koni Yellows are a sure bet. I really liked Koni FSDs on factory JCW springs (R56). Look around on www.northamericanmotoring.com for more info.
