One more question: do you know if these will fit on an E46 sedan with the sport suspension - it's the standard sport wheels I was going to mount these on.
Thanks
Still have these? You also have the sport cups, right? I need to get "new" tires for autox, since the ones I have (my old Kumho712's) are pretty much shot. I'd like to get better tires, but am...
A funny thing happened on my way home this evening - my wipers quit wiping - they were in "rain sense" mode wiping regularly due to the heavy rain fall and all of a sudden, they quit. They wouldn't...
Just today, I noticed that my driver's side window "clanks" on it's travel about halfway between up and down. At the same time as it clanks, it moves (shifts) slightly askew as if it's going off it's...
Aren't the E36 M3 wheels 8.5 rims in the back? Can you put the 225/45's on them without a problem? I'm sure you can't swap front to back, but that's not a big deal anyway.
Thanks,
Dave
One more question: do you _have_ to put the 245/40's on the back or can you run 225/45 all around using those wheels?
The title sorta' says it all. Does that work? More specifically, what are the implications of doing so, given that the rears are 245/40/17 as opposed to the 225/45/17 on my stock E46 328i sport...
Yeah - okay - now I feel stupid - thanks. I was way out of my element anyway...water under the bridge.
Here is what I was trying: E46 M3 suspension (shocks/springs/struts) on E46 sedan. That was probably my first mistake. Problem 1: front coil springs require different top hats than 328i. New top hats...
Nope. It doesn't work - can't get the front struts to mount correctly. At least, not without making more modifications than I care to. Moving to another solution. So, if there's anyone who wants to...
I think I'll take my parts over the the dealer and see what their upper spring seat looks like (or top hat) and if it fits my strut tower mounts. At least I thought to bring them with me - and they...
Was talking with the Russell BMW parts guy - 'cause their convenient, more or less, to where I work - and unfortunately, they don't have any idea as to what parts I need to make this work, or if it...
Thanks, looks like a trip to the parts store tomorrow, then.

So, I bought a stock M3 spring/strut/shock set from a guy who was upgrading his new M3's suspension. I successfully replaced the rear suspensio with the new on my '99 328i. However, I've run into...
I was curious about the RTAB - could that also be referred to as the Rear Trailing Arm Toe Bushing? Or, is it something else? I'll have to consult my manual when I get home, but was curious about...
Just to confuse matters a bit more, perhaps, I was talking about an E46 - note the '99 328i designation. Should have been more clear on my part. As far as I can tell (from the bilstein site, anyway)...
Unfortunately, I'll have to show ignorance here, but, what are LCA bushings, and RTA bushings?
So, now I have to ask the obvious question - what are good replacements for these things? Might as...
Okay - some more info - ~75K on the car. I haven't had an alignment done in the time I've had it (since ~38K miles). I don't recall there being an alignment in the service records, but I should...
No - it's not lowered, it's an '99 328i. I did put a '98 M3 staggered wheel set on, and the relevant tire sizes, however.
Thanks
This being my first BMW, I'm wondering what "normal" tire wear looks like for regular street use. I have Kumho712's on the car for about 9 months now (I'll have to figure out how many miles that...
